in their latest collection, 'salome' TiA CiBANi KiDS dives into the rich culture of west africa, taking inspiration from contemporary artist atta kwami of ghana and the herero tribe of namibia. fall/winter 2020 juxtaposes patchwork, wax prints and kente cloth in sportive silhouettes for a fresh and contemporary perspective.
COLOR
expressive and alluring tones set the stage. the deep and dark hue of indigo blue and the tropical shade of acacia green ground the palette while playful candy color of icing pink of flamingo hint at an indian summer vibe.
TRADITION RENEWED: A TWIRLING DERVISH
a nod to the traditional west african dance of the sufi tribe, ruffles, godets, crushed pleats, full circle skirts, tiers and butterfly sleeves will inspire twirling whirling dervish style.
