Sure, you could go with the usual, store-bought cookie-cutter halloween costumes - but where's the fun in that? Making costumes from scratch is another option, but who has the time!? This year, we're suggesting another alternative: get super creative with your inspiration, and then find the clothes to match. margo tennenbaum (the royal tennenbaums)

Margo's look is pretty simple to achieve - you just need a (faux) fur coat and a striped dress - and don't forget her iconic hairclip!

max fisher (rushmore)

Max's private school uniform is easily replicated with a button-down shirt and blazer. We've also included a tie and pin for the blazer's lapel. Glasses optional, but highly suggested.

Suzy's Bird Costume (from Moonrise Kingdom)

"What kind of bird are you?" This costume is an especially fun one. While we don't have quite the same headpiece as Suzy wears in the film, we think our alternatives are just as good.

Chas, Ari, and Uzi Tenenbaum (from the Royal Tenenbaums)

This is another simple but effective look. All you need is a tracksuit! We've got this one in other colors, but red is the one that most evokes the Royal Tenenbaum vibes.

Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

This sea-faring uniform is fairly simple - matching blue top and bottoms and a red cap is all you need. The Steve Zissou attitude is all up to you though!
