the animals observatory spring summer 2019

the animals observatory creative director, laia aguilar, always draws on her love of vintage clothing, typography, and art when creating her line of clothing for babies and kids. in her spring/summer 19 collection, laia pays homage to the romantic world of flowers and the richness of their color palette, combining this with the dazzling and radical style of classic rock stars. at the same time, laia stays true to one of her recurrent references: the muted colours of eric rohmer's films.

within the new collection we see the elegance of the 1970s;  classic and vintage patterns, pieces sprinkled with truth and charm. there's inspiration from cartoons by tex avery, and the natural elegance of iconic figures such as lauren hutton, caroline bassette and john kennedy, or brooke shields and jackie kennedy in their youth.
